Black Mirror PARTIALLY DONE
I'm a little surprised there are no entries for this TV series at all. Does anyone own any of the seasons? And am I right in thinking that series 1 is not available complete on Blu-Ray from anywhere?

Mr. Bean unedited DVD collections
Can anyone recommend a source for the original Mr. Bean series that includes the various "edited" bits inserted in the episodes? I can find "10th Anniversary" 3-DVD sets, but they're now out of print and EBay fodder. +1 if it also includes an unedited "Best Bits" extra. It would also be helpful if ...

It's done. Just added to "Your Comparisons", but not much additional information on music changes. Currently series 1 and 3 are believed to be unaltered.

Re: Goodnight Sweetheart (TV Series 1993–1999)
I also have this series (but in "complete" form, which might compromise the liner notes) and can probably bang an entry out within the next few days. Unfortunately I never binge watched the whole set (so can't comment on any inserted "muzak") and have no musical frame of reference besides the "Dad's ...

Ever Decreasing Circles - Series 1 UPDATED
I recently read that episode 1 of Ever Decreasing Circles on the 2 Entertain set is edited, and bought a copy of Network's series 1 to compare. The run times for Network's disk look like this:
- "The New Neighbour" (27:49)
- "Taking Over" (28:52)
- "A Strange Woman" (27:13)
- "Holiday Plans" (27:36 ...

Re: The Lost World (1925) Eureka DVD correction
Yes, comparing these different releases is maddening. And there's also the original Lumivision DVD, which includes other footage not present in the Image or Fox disks. See sites like

Re: The Lost World (1925) Eureka DVD correction
@James:
Sure, it's 1:32:42. This includes about 15 seconds at the start, explaining the reconstruction, and about 28 seconds at the end with DVD and reconstruction credits.
@Darrel: Yes, that's what I own. You're probably correct. I was trying to read between the lines and understand why Eureka ...

The Lost World (1925) - reference
Unless somebody on DVDCompare can contradict me, Eureka's DVD of The Lost World never included a "reproduction of the original souvenir program", in spite of what is listed on the back panel. See my thread at http://www.zetaminor.com/roobarb/showthread.php?51480-The-Lost-World-%281925%29-Eureka-DVD ...

Re: Bootlegs and Pirates on DVDCompare
It's a Lugosi film, so probably will see a restoration eventually. Manos and The Creeping Terror and a number of other bad films have, so why not this one? Maybe someone will create a kickstarter campaign?

Re: Bootlegs and Pirates on DVDCompare
Sorry, to be the bearer of bad new, Brent, but Network's DVD is also missing those 2-3 seconds of footage. Additionally, here are the bitrate graphs for both the Network and Bach disks:

Re: Bootlegs and Pirates on DVDCompare
Ah, so you're suggesting Network's copy came from an entirely different source? I hope you're right. There's an easy way to tell, as Bob's print is missing 2-3 seconds of footage in the middle, which creates a sort of watermark.

Re: Bootlegs and Pirates on DVDCompare
Ugh, so every DVD copy of "Scared to Death", save the Lumivision/Slingshot/Triton version is unlicensed. (I guess you can easily remove pixelization with DNR.) Network has so many quality releases that it's depressing to put them in the same camp. I did place a small Amazon UK order the other day ...

Re: Bootlegs and Pirates on DVDCompare
The Bach Films DVD I had in mind is "Scared to Death", a 1947 PD Poverty Row film with Bela Lugosi. I sent details about it to DVDCompare roughly 5 years ago. I know of the man who facilitated the original transfer for Lumivision, and who was disheartened when so many companies ripped them off. But ...

Re: Bootlegs and Pirates on DVDCompare
I don't generally condone piracy, but in the case of foreign releases, how does anybody really know if the rights were licensed? (Licensing an original print or master would be a separate issue.) I skimmed your article and as an example, I have a DVD from Bach Film in France with a higher bitrate ...
