I'm a little surprised there are no entries for this TV series at all. Does anyone own any of the seasons? And am I right in thinking that series 1 is not available complete on Blu-Ray from anywhere?

Can anyone recommend a source for the original Mr. Bean series that includes the various "edited" bits inserted in the episodes? I can find "10th Anniversary" 3-DVD sets, but they're now out of print and EBay fodder. +1 if it also includes an unedited "Best Bits" extra. It would also be helpful if ...

I recently read that episode 1 of Ever Decreasing Circles on the 2 Entertain set is edited, and bought a copy of Network's series 1 to compare. The run times for Network's disk look like this:

- "The New Neighbour" (27:49)

Yes, comparing these different releases is maddening. And there's also the original Lumivision DVD, which includes other footage not present in the Image or Fox disks. See sites like

Sure, it's 1:32:42. This includes about 15 seconds at the start, explaining the reconstruction, and about 28 seconds at the end with DVD and reconstruction credits.

Unless somebody on DVDCompare can contradict me, Eureka's DVD of The Lost World never included a "reproduction of the original souvenir program", in spite of what is listed on the back panel. It's a Lugosi film, so probably will see a restoration eventually. Manos and The Creeping Terror and a number of other bad films have, so why not this one? Maybe someone will create a kickstarter campaign?

Ah, so you're suggesting Network's copy came from an entirely different source? I hope you're right. There's an easy way to tell, as Bob's print is missing 2-3 seconds of footage in the middle, which creates a sort of watermark.

Ugh, so every DVD copy of "Scared to Death", save the Lumivision/Slingshot/Triton version is unlicensed. (I guess you can easily remove pixelization with DNR.) Network has so many quality releases that it's depressing to put them in the same camp. I did place a small Amazon UK order the other day ...

I don't generally condone piracy, but in the case of foreign releases, how does anybody really know if the rights were licensed? (Licensing an original print or master would be a separate issue.)
