Cuts information provided by Mark Bowen.
The first big difference in the U.S. running time is due to more studio/distributor credits at the beginning, about 18 seconds' worth. All three show the Hannibal Pictures logo, with the German version having a "classier" version of the logo.
The other differences will be clearer if I give you the exact timeline, so here it is.
Scandinavian version (German the same, minus about half a second):
00:17:35 External shot of Jack's house
00:17:38 Close up of Jack's hands playing piano
00:17:44 Continuous pan from family photos on top of the piano around to Jack playing, wearing yarmulke
00:17:59 Jack's wife enters the shot
U.S. version:
00:17:52 External shot of Jack's house
00:17:55 Close up of Jack's hands playing piano
00:18:01 Overhead shot of Jack praying from Talmud, yarmulke visible on top of head
00:18:07 Overhead shot of Jack's hands playing piano
00:18:12 Jack praying
00:18:17 Continuous pan from family photos on top of the piano around to Jack playing, wearing yarmulke
00:18:32 Jack's wife enters the shot
So clearly 16 seconds of overt Jewish references were cut from these two European releases. I have no idea why. Doesn't even make sense, as in these versions he's just sitting at the piano wearing a yarmulke, whereas in the uncut version it's clear that he was praying first and then started playing.
