For anyone who still has this on DVD: in the chain-whipping scene which was cut for video release, on the DVD is there a line right at the end where McClane says "You didn't think I was gonna let you get to that gun did you?". I don't seem to recall it on the DVD but it's on the Blu Ray version, and the scene seems a bit more intense overall. Could it be the missing frames have been restored or is my imagination playing tricks?

Your imagination is playing tricks, the line "You don't think I'm going to let you get to that gun do you?" is there.

Too bad, the BD would have been a good opportunity to restore the film to it's full theatrical form. I'm assuming the edit was MPAA-forced, but it's hardly gratuitously graphic by today's standards.

My HK disc is definitely uncut and has that scene. Blu too.

The Aussie one is a direct clone of the Japanese version, but then again they're probably all sourced from the same encode.
