The Salamader (1981) - 6.5/10
A national military force counterintelligence officer (Franco Nero) is assigned to investigate the killing of an Italian political leader. With the assistance of his senior colleague (Martin Balsam), he uncovers a conspiracy led by the Fascists to overthrow the Italian government.
The music by the great Jerry Goldsmith slightly helps to elevate the overall excitement to this otherwise bland political thriller.
Anthony Quinn, Sybil Danning, Christopher Lee, John Steiner, Eli Wallach and Claudia Cardinale co-star.
Genre: Crime, Political Thriller
Worth watching? Yes, strictly for fans of the actors and 80's political thrillers
Worth re-watching? Yes, only if you like the actors. But one scene is not worth-re-watching:
Django in a jockstrap!
Bottom-line? Great cast, thrill-less thriller
