Update on Chinese BDs/DVDs

Current authorized distributors for Hollywood studio home entertainment products (BD / DVD) in China:

Sony Pictures --> Sony Music China (begin from June, 2011)
e.g. Social Network http://www.gouduo.com/ware_18933.html
Packaging: Just a disc (or two discs) in a plastic case, DVD are often Region free. Region code often not printed on covers.
Others: Most titles comes with DTS-ES 6.1 soundtrack

Warner Bros. --> Sony Music China (begin from August, 2011)
e.g. Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows http://www.gouduo.com/ware_19663.html
Packaging: Disc + Plastic case, Region code often not printed on covers but DVD discs are mostly Region 6.

New Line Cinemas --> Sony Music China

Fox --> Sony Music China (from March, 2012)
Packaging: Disc + Plastic case

Paramount & Dreamworks --> Excel Media (from Jan, 2012)
Packaging: Various includes Steelbook, Digipack, Digibook, Limited Edition are available
DVD often comes with DTS 5.1ch

I doubt anyone cares about R6 DVDs and BR.
I quit buying them a long time ago. Chinese versions are oftenly cut and DTS tracks aren't well mixed.
The only reason somebody can bother buying those discs are lower prices. But the quality doesn't pay off so it ain't worth the effort...
