Selling Unwanted DVDs (and BDs) to MusicMagpie

Postby Paul Moran » 03 Jul 2013 22:06

There was a time when musicmagpie's lowest price for a DVD was 30p.
I've noticed over recent months that this "floor" price has been steadily dropping, and last night I was quoted their lowest price ever: 19p for Ghosts of Mars.
At that price, it's worth more to me as a good quality standard keep case, so the contents will be going in the bin!
Thanks mainly to blu-ray upgrades, I've now got about 250 other DVDs to get rid of: perhaps 200 to musicmagpie, subject to final price checks (when I can get round to it - boxing them up will be tedious), and 50 higher value items (e.g. Criterions) to go on amazon marketplace (after I've invested in a UV marker kit - a precaution following a potentially dodgy return request).

Let me know if you have any you want rid of. Always up for some cheap purchases and I'd buy the discs/cover so you can keep the cases.

They are the biggest seller on Amazon and Play under the name zoverstocks. They sell on eBay as eStocks. They own the shops and website called That's Entertainment. They also supply the supermarkets and Poundland with their used "Replay" range. They are literally everywhere.

I buy from zoverstocks literally every day.

Yeah - I've bought from Zoverstocks quite a bit too. Interesting, didn't know that's how they worked.

Cheers Samuel.I bought the uncut Italian version of Cobra from them the other day on AmazonUK & I also use them quite regularly for their generally reasonable prices.Explains why I've never come across a Music Magpie site at least  .

Zoverstocks

Oh yeah, I bought lots of PC games from them. Almost all brand new and a few used but in a good condition. Every item was really cheap. :-D

For some very stupid reason the most UK third party sellers don't ship to my country...

Just had my lowest ever quote from musicMagpie - 5p for the US 2-disc DVD of Casino Royale!
So I'll keep disc 2 for the Bond Girls Are Forever doc that isn't in the Bond 50 BD set, and keep the case as a spare.

Looks like musicMagpie has made an early Brexit and moved outside EU. Till this Monday all packages arrived in my mailbox or local post office, but today got three letters from customs about musicMagpie packages
Unless theres a mistake its RIP musicMagpie and on to look for another UK Amazon marketplace seller. Tho lately the have been much less aggressive and competitive with their pricing, so the move for new seller was only matter of time.
