On these pages, it states that the first 8,000 copies include a slipcover.

According to the Vinegar Syndrome page it states 6,000 slipcovers:

Also, it is not really the FIRST 6,000, as there is an option to purchase without the slipcover. The same type of issue also occurs on many other DVDCompare pages for Vinegar Syndrome releases - too many to list here!
