Actually, they do. Both games look bad on any PRO display I have. Plus those games don't support widescreen. And CRT displays are 4x3, so it's a perfect fit.
Does http://www.play-old-pc-games.com/2012/0 ... es-forever help?

What happened to them - or more precisely, what went wrong with them? It's just that I've never heard of LCD/LED monitors failing (except for the dead pixel issues)...

It's a perfect mix of everything I hate in cinema. Everything, and I mean every damn thing was done deliberately awful. In fact, I'm shocked that a director like Ridley Scott managed to shoot such, khm, THING. It's not a movie, it's a joke which is very sad. It was one revolting experience to me.
I'm doing my best to erase it from my memory completely.

So what's your verdict of the film Sculder - as bad as Jim advises? And if not, do the Extended Director`s Cut 20mins add anything interesting over the theatrical?

I have not seen the theatrical version, but I have heard bad things about it. And reading online reviews* it seems Fox did it again and pulled the "Kingdom Of Heaven" with this one. I don`t care much about other peoples opinions about movies. Jim has shown poor taste (imo) before so I rarely take his opinions seriously. I liked this DC only thing that bothered me a bit was that all the people taking part in the drug deal were philosophers (or thought they were).

Ah-ha-ha!   That's hilarious indeed, thanks for cheering me up. I know your taste in movies is of course impeccable, no doubt. :)
I'm just curious, how anyone's taste in movies can be great or poor? :o It's like saying "I hate water coz it's wet", or "white is better then blue coz its white".
Tastes differ. And that's it. There're no right or wrong choices here. I merely stated my opinion. If you think it's a great piece of cinema, go with God.
Some folks liked it, saying it's deeply philosophical and very funny, kinda dark comedy. Ok, maybe it is. But it's just I don't see anything of that kind. Except two world famous actresses who once were young, and maybe even attractive to some men. But now they're old, with bad skin and lots of wrinkles. And trying to look sexy and making deeply erotic sounds don't do them any good. Infact, it's the opposite. Their acting made me sick and purple at the same time.
So, maybe I have bad taste from a certain point. I don't really care. But I don't see a lot of people who want to watch a mature woman, who looks cheap and phony, sitting on a car windshield and trying to imitate a sexual encounter. It's purely revolting, not hot or sexy. And the rest of the movie is like that...

I dont care what you or anyone thinks about my taste in movies or my opinions, I stated my opinion about your taste in movies and thats it. Weather you like it or care about it does not concern me.

PS! Dont put words in my mouth. Where did I write that its a "great piece of cinema"? Do you only deal with absolutes? Either its the worst movie in the world or great piece of cinema.

Oh and you`re welcome, laughter is best medicine, Im glad I could help.

Today:

2012: Doomsday (UK Blu) - Awful, too much of a religious tone for me, and... well... just a bit rubbish really. Not even worth the £1 I paid for it. 2/10

Finished Season 1 of The Walking Dead (episodes 2-6), and started on Season 2 (episodes 1-6).

Spot on, mate! I'll frame that and put it on my wall.

Watched today Greenzone [US Blu]. Is this movie supposed to have so much noise? Coz it's too much for my taste.

*chuckle* The druggies being philosophers I think is nothing new - infact it may be the norm in Hollywood films rather than the exception; I'm thinking BIG LEBOWSKI, WEEDS, WAYNE'S WORLD, etc for example... As for theatrical vs extended, thanks: I'll check out the extended, and keep my expectations low (hope we got it down under). :)

Do you mean http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1132130 ? If so it seems you're not the only one who thought so; after 6000+ votes, it's at 1.7/10. Looks like I can skip this one. :)

Do you mean http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0947810 - and do you also mean "screen/display noise"? If so, when I watched it at the cinema there was much such display noise - I believe due to the digital filming technique they used... I think similar to COLLATERAL, if I'm not mistaken. You can see it again at the blu vs DVD comparison at http://www.caps-a-holic.com/hd_vergleic ... ultiID=412 (does anyone wish to add this caps-a-holic link to http://www.dvdcompare.net/comparisons/f ... ?fid=16753 ?): you may just be able to detect it on the DVD too, but very difficult (and easy to miss) because of the DVD's low resolution. The others here may be able to offer a more technical overall explanation.

Yeah, it appears they used some filter to generate so much noise. So, it's a great movie which doesn't look as I hoped it should.

Great movie, more chilling then The Grudge (all movies together). That nice room with cursed/posessed items... Also great cast performance, very solid. 9/10

I enjoyed The Conjuring also. Atmospheric, and a great cast. Gave it an 8/10. A second is coming next year, also with returning cast members.

Today:

Driven to Kill (UK Blu) - Not Seagal's best, and the Blu-ray is not good at all. They added fake grain after production (not the distributors, but the filmmakers) which has all but wiped out details and made colours overly soft. If it's filmed on film, there should be grain, if it's filmed on HD/Digital, then leave it you morons.

Finished The Walking Dead: Season 2 (episodes 7-13), and started Season 3 (episodes 1-4). Will add the S3 UK Blu-ray set as I work through it. Such a great show.

Think it's more the higher ISO levels used in capturing the image on the digital (HD) camera, to capture more natural light (remember, this was done when digital camera cinematography was beginning - so different photographers used different settings...) From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_Ackroyd : "...known for...anti-Hollywood, naturalistic, neo-realistic cinematographic style..." Also remember some of the photographer's other films (watched in the cinema: HURT ZONE, WIND THAT SHAKES THE BARLEY) also had (smaller) amounts of grain.

WALKING DEAD is currently being broadcast on TV here, and am up to episode 204 (s2e04). Good show. Any interesting extras on your current boxset Samuel?

Yeah, the video looks fake and wierd. In fact, it's terrible. But the movie is Ok 5/10
Though I prefer Out For A Kill, Into The Sun and Belly Of The Beast for being truly over-the-top.

I haven't been watching the extras, but seasons 1 and 2 are already listed here, and season 3 is likely the same as US (at least disc 1 is anyway) but with 5.1 audio instead of 7.1.

The few reviews I looked at mentioned they were ok, but let us know of your opinions (of the extras - and especially whether the commentaries are worth sitting through, as often they're not) if you do end up watching those. Speaking of reviews, came across the following which are not in your database; will you add them (if/when you add the UK specs), or should I add them to the list of my comparisons waiting to be submitted? :)
