To Charles Bronson's fans who are looking for a widescreen transfer of Love and Bullets on DVD (I guess it's anamorphic), this Japanese release may be the best choice available. I've been on the fence about buying it since the film itself is rather disappointing. It's been available since 2010:

It's a DTV job, directed by DTV sequel specialist Roel Reiné. At least RZA is still involved in the writing/directing department so it shouldn't be too awful.

Yeah typical stupid Australian/NZ nanny-state crap, but giant rating labels have been such a life-long hassle i've just come to accept them. A lot of companies are now directly printing the even uglier New Zealand OFLC ratings onto the slicks now. Occasionally discs packaging will be designed with a reversible slick, or with the rating printed a removable cardboard wraparound, or just on a removable sticker - this is usually only done on limited edition collectible packaging. 90% of discs still have that ugly shite printed there, to avoid them i'd literally have to import every single movie I buy and that's just too much effort. As it is I get quite a few from the UK these days, they still have ugly rating labels but at least it's 1/10th the size

Couldn't agree more. "The bigger the better", they thought.

This is also true for German DVDs and BDs. When it comes to the size of rating labels, no state rating label can beat those of Australia/NZL and Germany.
However, some German distributors have taken the right move by printing reversible covers without the rating labels.

So far, I've only got 2 Australian DVDs and few German DVDs and BDs that have rating labels. They are either films not available elsewhere (at the time) or films with superior PQ or AQ.

Luckily most of the few discs i've gotten with German ratings have had removable labels.. perhaps one or two music discs have a printed label.

Most JB HiFI exclusive packaging has some form of removable label or cardboard wraparound. Paramount used to print all their NZ slicks without the Australian ratings, in some cases i've been able to peel off the rating label. Older Australian DVDs had much more subtle ratings on them, but from 2005 onwards they changed to the ugly oversized ones and so most Blu Ray covers have those

addedum: the worst example of an Aussie rating logo ruining a cover has got to be the JB HiFi exclusive slipcase for Game of Thrones Season 3. Check out this abomination:

Ooooh no couldn't just adjust the size of the artwork so all the house emblems are a bit higher, lets just half-obscure one of them instead

I've just seen confirmation that the From Beyond BD has a reversible sleeve 8) It's in the mail, i'll post specs as soon as it arrives.

edit: Umbrella also has Re-Animator scheduled for a BD release in April. I also noticed they don't have the dodgy Hellraiser III 50hz BD on their webstore, so hopefully there's a 1080p version of that (lossless audio wouldn't hurt either) in the works...

6 discs, geez... how much supplemental material does one film need? :o

Oh yeah, apparentrly the reversible sleeve on From Beyond is just two different artworks, going by the pictures on the JB HiFi site both covers still have giant ugly ratings labels on them
