I finally had the opportunity to watch Bolt in 3D. Although this film dates back to 2008, the 3D looks great! The action sequences are impressive and the drama sequences look natural. I’m happy to own this one.

One surprise: the backcover and menu state “DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1” but when the film starts to roll, the audio is actually 5.1-ES (or 6.1 Matrix). Also all the dubs are DTS 5.1-ES or DD 5.1-EX. (The database had false information about this.) I guess all releases are 6.1-friendly, not just the Scandinavian one.

I posted some screenshots from the Scandinavian edition here.

Good to hear. I've a few unwatched 3D animated films in the pile including Frankenweenie, Rise of the Guardians, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, and Finding Nemo (and a rake of non-animated too). I'm making a full attempt at the moment to buy few releases, and aim for cutting the pile down.

Just got the UK blu's of True Romance and In Bruges.

It's good to finally have a watchable copy of True Romance, the old Aussie DVD was one of the worst transfers i've ever seen. Not only was it washed out and full of severe compression artefacts (especially in the shootout at the end) but the whole image was windowboxed! Now I can finally watch it without getting eye-strain...

The only thing I don't like is how each side has 2 discs stacked on top of each other. I might look into buying a 4-disc blu ray case with swing tray and putting everything in that.

Looking at the Bruce Lee BD case, looks like the cover will not fit properly into a 4-disc BD case with swing tray. Be sure to check the thickness of the 4-disc BD case. The closest replacement case you can buy is Viva Elite's 4-disc BD case, which is 15 mm thick. To my knowledge, other brands are even thicker.

I got the Viva Elite 4-disc blu-ray case with swing trays today. It's spine is 15mm so it's slightly thicker than the case it originally came in (I think 12.5mm). The good news is that the cover fits pretty well. There's like 1mm of empty space on either side since the cover is shorter but it's hardly noticeable. The new case can go into the cardboard slip cover but it's a tight fit. I'm just going to leave the slip cover out since that's an extra step to get my Bruce Lee fix anyways. I wish Shout! Factory hadn't cheaped out on the case in the first place.

Arrived at work:
11382. Remember Me (UK DVD, ITV)
11383. Strange Things Happen at Sundown (UK DVD, Film 2000)

When I get home on the 6th January is going to be fun though. Black Friday bargains, and others I ordered since will have arrived. Last night though, I had a small spree on Italian Blu-rays including 1900 and Romanzo Criminale: Season 2.

Ordered about 70 Blu-rays yesterday. When I get home on the 6th it is going to be chaos cataloguing everything, let alone attempting to add them here.

That's a lot for a single purchase :o
With your huge and ever growing number of collection, you could start running your very own DVD and Blu-ray rental business in 2015, Sam. Consider it a side job
