Vinnie Jones, UFC legends Kevin 'Kimbo Slice' Ferguson and Rashad 'Sugar' Evans, plus championship Martial Artist Tony Schiena star in this no holds barred prison thriller with real punch. Danny (Schiena) is a respected cop who gets set up and sent down. Once in prison, he must assess his best means of proving his innocence and getting out, in a world where normal rules don't apply.

An underground cage fighting system dictates survival of the fittest. The fights are governed by the formidable Vargas (Jones) and Danny has no choice but to compete. With the help of a fellow inmate who happens to be a former mixed martial arts champion, Danny devises a scheme to bring justice and innocence to his family's name. If he can just get out of the cage alive.

Video

Lions Gate Home Entertainment unleashes this DTV effort onto UK audiences in the original aspect ratio of 1.78:1. The feature is presented in 1080p and uses an AVC MPEG-4 codec. It's a little hokey.

It's main problem is down to how heavily filtered the transfer is, giving an overly soft feeling. Aliasing is also a bit of a problem, along with a small amount of ringing, especially during the action heavy scenes. Detail is generally good, especially in facial close-ups, but shadow detail could have been improved upon, and colours should have been a little sharper. Skin tones look natural, apart from shots of the internal affairs officer driving her car towards the prison before the final scenes and black levels are good, but slightly inconsistent. The print itself is clean though, with no signs of dirt or scratches.

The disc is a BD25, and the feature runs 98:47.

Audio

Just a single option:
- English DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1

To be honest, as perfectly capable as this track is, it could've been lifted from any of these prison fight genre movies and I'd have been none-the-wiser. The surrounds are used mainly for the hip-hop soundtrack, but every now and again we get a little thud or some crowd noise. Channel eparation is adequate, but the sounds of clunking jail doors and other prison noise could have been utilised better. There are no dropouts and I noticed no scratches or any other causes for concern. It's a solid track, but instantly forgettable.

Optional subtitles have been provided in English for the hard of hearing.
