The Film
 One night of violence she'll never forget. An unsuspecting nurse returns home for a night of relaxation after a hard day, only to discover that this is far from the reality which will unfold. It's Halloween night and her one game of trick or treat is about to get out of hand, as the arrival of a criminal and the man holding him hostage force their way into her home. Pulled into the drama, she must choose a side before it's too late. But things turn nuclear when the house comes under siege as wave after wave of violent mercenaries descend to free their captive boss.

Yet another home invasion thriller; we seem to have loads in the last few years; most recently The Owners (2020). This one is shorter, tighter and better directed than most and rattles along it's violent, gory path fairly well (it earns it's 18 certificate). A good bet for a bunch of friends over on a Friday night with beer and pizza on hand ... after lockdown obviously! This has an overall naturalistic if typically digitally muted look. Primaries pop when they (rarely) make an appearance and flesh tones are warm with no bleed. It's mostly pretty darkly shot and has an overall soft, dark, muted look. Contrast is lowkey but supports the dark image well. Encoding gets the job done pretty well and I could see no signs digital tampering or compression artefacts. It's a very short film so the single layered DVD5 is adequate. PAL / MPEG-2 / 2.4:1 / 77:52

English Dolby Digital 5.1 English Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo Subtitles: None A fairly active soundtrack which serves the score pretty well. Stick to the 5.1 because the 2.0 is yet another basic stereo track not encoded for surround unless you switch your amp over to ProLogic II (or something similar). Surrounds do get used but not all that much; this isn't that kind of film. They're mainly utilised for the score and some ambiance. Sadly, no subtitles for the hearing impaired have been provided.

Overall
Snappy home invasion thriller gets a solid single layered DVD release. Image and lossy sound are as good as the format and and aound design will allow for. A cheap disc that will do the trick for the casual purchaser. Recommended if this is your bag.
