The Film
 Jennifer Lopez plays Slim Hiller, a waitress barely managing to survive, until she meets rich builder, Mitch (played by Bill Campbell). Eventually she marries him and has a daughter. It isn't until, a few years into the marriage, that Slim discovers Mitch is not all he seems to be. He is having an affair. When she confronts him about this, he hits her. Here is where the movie starts. When she has finally had enough, she decides to make a late night getaway with the help of her friends Ginny (Juliette Lewis) and Joe (Dan Futterman). With this, Ginny helps Slim move from hotel to hotel to escape from Mitch and his evil ways. After all her resources have been cut off from Mitch, Slim decides it's time to ask for help from her birth father, Jupiter (Fred Ward). Everytthing is going hunkie dory until a friend of Mitch's, Robbie (Noah Wyle), who also happens to be a cop, tracks her down, and it starts all other again. Slim has just about had enough so she goes to a personal trainer for help in exacting revenge and to show Mitch just how strong she is. To be honest, this film drags along at a snails pace, and I don't think I'd be able to bring myself to watch it again. It's not an astonishingly bad film, just very very slow. This has probably been Jennifer Lopez's finest performance, but let's face it, Anaconda and The Cell were hardly academy award winning performances. Noah Wyle and Juliette Lewis however, seem to be a bit below par. I'd say for people to rent this film before they buy.
Video
We are given a choice here on the menu screen of a 4:3 transfer or a 2.40:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer. Obviously, I opted to watch the film on the 2.40:1 transfer. The picture is pretty good. What you'd expect from a recent film.
Audio
We are given a choice here of English 5.1 or French 2.0 Surround. Naturally, I listened to the 5.1 sound where the orchestral score was fine and the dialogue clear. This isn't a film with explosions so don't expect to test your equipment with this DVD.
Extras
First up with have a Jennifer Lopez music video for her song Alive. This is given a 4:3 non-anamorphic picture and is the usual tripe that Jennifer Lopez pushes out. Next we have some filmographies for Jennifer Lopez, Juliette Lewis, Bill Campbell, Noah Wyle and Michael Apted. Nothing spectacular here. Finally, we have the obligatory trailer, presented in 2.35:1 anamorphic widescreen.
