The Japanese release has lossless audio, uses the AVC codec, and includes exclusive Japanese extras. Note it does not include the "Anatomy of a Scene" featurette.
The US release has the "Anatomy of a Scene" featurette and many extras, but only has lossy audio and uses the lesser MPEG-2 codec.
