General notes about the ending:
Based on Mika Kaurismäki, the "Sad Ending" was faithful for the original book and was originally shown in the theatres in Finland when the film was released. Kaurismäki then re-cut the film and this "Alternative/Open Ending" was also shown internationally and on the Finnish TV. Both endings were filmed at the same time. -
