R0 Scorpion, R1 Media Blasters/Shriek Show and R2 Germany for the extra-features and 2.35:1 Anamorphic-transfer (do note that Scorpion comes from a brand new HD transfer from better elements).
Also note that R1 by DVD Ltd. has the "original" TV version in 1.33:1.
The following versions of the movie are known:
- The original Theatrical version entitled "Something Is Out There",
- The pan & scan TV version entitled "Day of the Animals". -

- R0 America- Scorpion Releasing - No cuts (97:30 NTSC)
- R1 America- DVD Ltd. - No cuts - TV version
- R1 America- Media Blasters / Shriek Show - Yes, includes both the theatrical version (98:24 NTSC), including 0:24 of DVD credits and 0:54 of black screen after the opening statement, in which one dialogue bit starting from 32:59 minute and running 0:15 is missing. This sequence includes the native American character Daniel Santee (Michael Ansara) offering a wooden spear for protection to Paul Jenson (Leslie Nielsen), who ends up insulting Santee. Also the TV version (97:29 NTSC), including 0:24 of DVD credits, fully uncut.
- R2 Germany- Voulez Vous - No cuts - Includes both the theatrical version (94:28 PAL), in which one dialogue bit starting from 32:59 minute and running 0:15 is missing. This sequence includes the Indian character Daniel Santee (Michael Ansara) offering a wooden spear for protection to Paul Jenson (Leslie Nielsen), who ends up insulting Santee. Also the TV version (93:57 PAL), fully uncut.
