OVERALL: Draw
The R2 French release has some extras, but is not English-friendly. Of the other releases the R2 UK is the best, as it features the longer 'European' cut and English subtitles (albeit burned-in).
A note on the R1/R4 cut status: According to IMDB, the original ending was edited and changed for the American release, which runs about 6˝ minutes shorter than the European version. The R4 running time of 100:42 (PAL) is 2 mins shorter than the European version, but similar to the US Theatrical version which could indicate a poor NTSC>PAL transfer. Either way, this release is cropped and should be avoided! -
CUTS:
- R0 Greece- Odeon - No cuts - original European theatrical version (104:48 PAL)
- R1 America- Buena Vista Home Entertainment - Yes - shorter 'US Theatrical' version (100:33 NTSC)
- R2 France- Fox Pathe Europa - No cuts - original European theatrical version (103 mins PAL)
- R2 United Kingdom- Pathe! Distribution - No cuts - original European theatrical version (102:47 PAL)
- R4 Australia- Shock Records - Unknown - (100:42 PAL)
