OVERALL: Draw
The US Criterion edition has a 2K transfer, DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 sound, and extensive extras.
The South Korean edition also has 7.1 sound and some differing extras.
The German Ultimate Edition has 5.1 sound and includes extensive extras for the film in addition to the documentary "Creature Designers: The Frankenstein Complex" and its own extras.
The UK SE and Zavvi Exclusive releases also feature a great looking (very little DNR'd) transfer, DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, some extras from the US New Line release and in return of losing some ("The Charlie Rose Show" and "Photo galleries"), they also offer exclusive extras; a 30-min interview and "The Melody Echoes the Fairy Tale" featurette.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
- The standard UK release features only lossy Dolby Digital audio but the rest of the contents are identical with the UK SE/Zavvi Exclusive.
- The UK SE reportedly features some pitch issues on the 5.1 track whilst the Zavvi exclusive has those issues fixed.
- The German releases are not English friendly.
