The Japanese 4-disc edition has both versions of the movie in genuine HD and a new documentary.
The US Lionsgate release has a transfer from a 4K remaster with exclusive additional extras.

The movie was re-released in a new edit in 2008 as "Ghost in the Shell 2.0, which features a number of new 3D CG-enhancements to existing scenes.
