Between the French and Scandinavian DVDs, for containing the uncut version of the film. Note that the French release has some added contextual material.

The newer German release (from MVL) is also apparently uncut, but seems to be non-English friendly.

NB. The Japanese release from King Records presents the film widescreen. This release is cut, although the castration and rape scenes suffer less cuts than some other versions of the film; however, this release also cuts some narrative scenes that are present in most other versions of the film. On the other hand, the other releases (including the uncut Scandinavian release) are believed to be open-matte presentations of the film.

  - the scene in which a dead dog is discovered is trimmed;
  - cuts to the scene depicting a dialogue between young African Americans and Civil Rights protesters
• R2 Japan- PD Classic - Yes - Cuts to a rape scene and a scene depicting a castration
• R2 Scandinavia- Scantrade Entertainment - No cuts (107:04 PAL)
• R2 United Kingdom- Prism Leisure - Yes - Cuts to a rape scene and a scene of castration (100:41 PAL).
