The Special Edition releases have an anamorphic transfer, 5.1 audio. Only minor language differences.
The French, German, UK, and Australian standard editions have a 1.33:1 transfer and 5.1 audio, with a differing game and short from the special editions. Only minor language differences.
The US Gold Collection release has a 1.33:1 transfer and 2.0 audio, with an exclusive read-along storybook feature and trivia game.
About the aspect ratio:
The Aristocats (1970) is one of the several (basically from 101 Dalmatians (1961) to The Fox and the Hound (1981)) animated films from Disney, where there have been some confusion (and debates) about the original aspect ratio.
Most of these films were shown theatrically in widescreen, but there are also people who prefer 4:3 open-matte versions (some claiming that it’s actually the OAR).
With The Aristocats (1970), the 4:3 version is indeed open matte, as confirmed in the review (with screencaps) here at UltimateDisney.com. -
