For the additional extras.
The following cuts were made at the request of the BBFC prior to release:
1. Removal of shots of Helena's hand being held down by Tong men on a table and of her reactions as her fingers are stuck by the axe.
2. Considerable reduction in the torturing of Sale: in particular removal of all shots of the needles in contact with his flesh.
3. Removal of a shot of torturer lying on the ground with axe in his body and blood all around it.
4. Removal of a close shot of man's bloody body after it has been repeatedly stabbed and of shots of his mutilated hand.
It has been confirmed that the "shot of first officer's mutilated hand", mentioned on the BBFC web site, has been restored on all of the versions released on DVD.
