OVERALL: Draw
The R1 Special Edition has a 5.1 remix DTS track.
The other releases include the original mono mix.
This has also been released by Criterion as a 2-disc set featuring a 4K restoration of the uncensored version of the film along with the television version and some exclusive interviews. We do not yet have exact specs.
Versions:
During post-production, director Amy Heckerling was forced to reframe the shot of Robert Romanus removing his underwear during the poolhouse scene approximately 58 minutes into the film to remove his nudity in order to avoid an X-rating. The Criterion release has restored her preferred framing for the first time.
The Television version is censored for language and sexual content, but includes deleted scenes in order to keep the runtime long enough for television broadcast.
Subsequent to the original DVD releases, Universal lost the original mono track; director Amy Heckerling has approved the use of the 5.1 remix going forward. -
