OVERALL: Draw
Either of two disc editions from Acorn Media (the UK is preferable for the proper PAL transfer).
GENERAL NOTES:
There also exists a feature edit that runs approximately 114 minutes that was edited concurrently with the miniseries by Mick Audsley while the miniseries editing was supervised by Xavier Russell. The television version featured a score of London Philharmonic Orchestra performances of period-appropriate pieces by Holst and Delius among others. The feature edit featured an original score by Jean-Claude Petit. The music rights were not secured for the video releases of the television version – and possibly overseas broadcast – so the Petit score was used for video and DVD releases of the television version.
Also available from:
- Magna Pacific (Australia)
- Medusa Entertainment (Italy - feature edit) -
CUTS:
- R1 America- Acorn Media - No cuts (204:36 PAL-to-NTSC), but the original broadcast score has been replaced.
- R2 United Kingdom- Metrodome Distribution - No cuts (~205 mins PAL), but the original broadcast score has been replaced.
- R2 50th Anniversary Edition* United Kingdom- Acorn Media - No cuts (205:20 PAL), but the original broadcast score has been replaced.
