The Shout! Factory release has the original Japanese version of the film and extras. Do note, the Alpha release has the US Version, but its cropped to full screen.
This film has also been released in Japan as a single release (which is OOP), in Gamera: The Box 1965-1968 collection (also OOP), and in the Gamera - Z Plan: 40th Anniversary DVD-BOX set. In the US, the English version is available albeit in budget releases from distributors like Alpha Gotham Distribution which are best to be avoided.

The film exists in two versions:
- The original Japanese version.
- The re-edited US version featuring footage with American actors and released under the title "Gammera the Invincible".
The Japanese version is still under copyright while the US version is in the public domain. -
