The Australian "40th Anniversary Edition", the German "3-Disc Leatherbook Edition", the US "Exclusive 40th Anniversary Restoration" (the US two-disc just drops the CD soundtrack, booklet and Steelbook packaging) the UK Cult Films Indiegogo limited edition release, and German Koch Media Ultimate Edition have the 4K restoration transfers with differing exclusive extras. The Synapse editions exclusively feature the original 4.0 mix with directional dialogue (the stereo track on the Cult Films releases is a downmix).

Note the Australian release has two English 5.1 tracks and the Italian 5.1, the German releases have English 2.0 and 1.0 tracks and the Italian 5.1 track, and the US release has the original English 4.0 track and also an Italian 5.1 track.

Note the German 84 Entertainment 4 disc release and UK releases have other exclusive extras, though older transfers.

Also note, the 2019 Italian Videa release features the Synapse Films restoration and an exclusive featurette.

GENERAL NOTES:
There are two 4K restorations:
- the German one that appears on the all Blu-ray editions except the Synapse and 2019 Videa releases
- the Synapse one approved by cinematographer Luciano Tovoli on the Synapse Blu-ray and UHD (as well as the 2018/2019 Blu-ray from Videa whose earlier editions used the German restoration)
The film was released in English with a discrete four channel (LCRS) mix with directional dialogue (a mono mix was also available for theaters that could not handle multi-channel audio). The 5.1 mixes are newer tracks that center the dialogue (the 2.0 stereo mixes are downmixed from 4.0, possibly sourced directly from the LPCM track on the American Laserdisc). French and Italian theatrical mixes were in mono.
