For the Director's Cut:
Your only choice is the R0 US Koch Vision release.

For the Original, Extended Cut:
Between the US release for the proper transfer or the France release for the 5.1 sound but note it features a flaw (see notes for release).

General Notes:
Director Ted Nicolau cut down scenes featuring Dr. Niculescu (Mihai Dinvale) because he was dissatisfied with his performance (the actor did not speak English).

The extended version was marketed overseas by Kushner-Locke and first showed up stateside on Showtime and was used as the source for the US boxed set(s) and possibly outside R1.

The extended cut is also the version that was released in the UK as Subspecies 4: The Awakening.
