The original Italian version is the longer cut with music by Riz Ortolani and songs from Claudio Baglioni.
The International version is a shorter edit (likely for pacing) with songs by Donovan.

The 2-disc release by Minerva looks to be the way to go as it contains both versions for the film, although the International one is 1.33:1 (it is not known if it is open matte or cropped). If you particularly want the International version then any of the Paramount releases are widescreen anamorphic.
