‘Another Part Of Me’ is the later montage video from 1988 made up from performances on the Bad World Tour rather than using the original musical number from the Captain EO film in 1986.
‘Speed Demon’ – has, what appears to be, visible VHS tape stretch distortion ‘noise’.
Along with ‘Speed Demon’s’ picture issues and despite being shot on 35 film the other videos taken from ‘‘Moonwalker’’; i.e -‘Smooth Criminal’, ‘Come Together’ and ‘Leave Me Alone’ are all presented in the incorrect ratio of 1.33:1 and appear to be from an inferior source. Many owners have complained of the collection’s claims of ‘restored and remastered’ videos when in fact all the content appears to be no better than the old VCD, Laserdisc and VHS transfers.
Further picture issues continue when you realise with later videos that were shot in 1.85:1 or letterboxed such as ‘Remember The Time’ and ‘Jam’, those particular videos along with all 1.33:1 videos have the image cropped slightly top and bottom, from previous releases, for no apparent reason. Perhaps to hide further VHS edge distortion?
The ‘Black Or White’ video is the original broadcast version without digitally inserted graffiti messages.
‘Heal The World’ featured a new intro on the Dangerous The Short Films release as separate from the main video. Here it is incorporated as part of the video as a whole.
‘Who Is It’ has some instrumental rearrangements.
‘Gone Too Soon’ is the new version found on Michael Jackson’s YouTube page with extended instrumental intro, new opening dialogue from Ryan White and new closing spoken word from Jackson.
‘Scream’ is uncensored and uncut.
‘You Are Not Alone’ original version without angel scenes.
‘Ghosts’ is not the full-length 40 minute feature that incorporated songs from the Blood On The Dance Floor LP (effectively ‘‘Ghosts’’ is to ‘Blood On The Dance Floor’ what ‘‘Moonwalker’’ was to ‘Bad’). It’s not even the ‘Ghosts’ segment ala ‘Smooth Criminal’ it is a montage of footage from the film, while the track ‘Ghosts’ plays over the top. Think the sped up version of ‘Smooth Criminal’.
‘You Rock my World’ is the full uncut version with credits. A version cut by around 4 minutes is on ‘Michael Jackson Number Ones’ DVD.
‘Can You Feel It’ is the full version with spoken word intro and closing credits.
‘They Don’t Care About Us’ (prison version) has an added disclaimer at the beginning and different scenes than the original broadcast version.
Omissions include anything to do with ‘HIStory’ and ‘Captain EO’. -

Currently the only release we have specs for.
Note we have used year of the DVD production for this comparison. -
CUTS:
-
R0 United Kingdom- Epic - Yes:
– ‘Jam’: The ‘hoo’ sound before Michael Jordan passes the ball to Jackson is missing.
- ‘Will You Be There’: A few seconds of missing audio at the beginning. The video also replaces many shots with Michael live from the Dangerous World Tour. Most notably though the original closing ‘angel swoops down and wraps her wings around Michael’ is replaced with one of Michael on his own and a fade to black. The replacement shot appears to be a rehearsal shot. A badly blurred time code clock can even be glimpsed in the top right corner supporting this theory.
- ‘Earth Song’ omits closing credits and the message regarding the threat of mankind on nature. Most of the sound effects are muted also.
