OVERALL: Draw
Kino Lorber has an exclusive interview and commentary, Powerhouse has all audio options and a differing commentary, and Rimini has a documentary (although it is overdubbed in French).
Note:
The original theatrical version and subsequent home video releases (VHS, Laserdisc) had the creepy, low-key piano and strings score by Bo Harwood and Lance Rubin. On the DVDs some of their score has been replaced as thus:
(1.) The opening credits now have a fast-paced disco song.
(2.) A different piece of instrumental music is used during the opening kill sequence.
(3.) The scene where Melissa Sue Anderson is undressing for her shower originally contained a instrumental piece. Its replacement is a completely different piece of music altogether.
(4.) During the dance hall sequence, the disco instrumentals of the original score have been replaced by two actual songs with lyrics.
(5.) Some music cues in the original are completely gone and scored to no music on the DVD, and vice versa. -
CUTS:
- Blu-ray A America- Kino Lorber - No cuts. Contains original music.
- Blu-ray A Double Feature America- Mill Creek Home Entertainment - No cuts. Contains original music.
- Blu-ray ALL LImited Edition United Kingdom- Powerhouse Films - No cuts. Contains the original soundtrack and the altered DVD soundtrack (110:47).
- Blu-ray B Limited Edition France- Rimini - No cuts (110:47).
