OVERALL: Draw
The following editions offer the original Italian cut of the film:
- R0 Italy has both Italian and English audio, although the latter has some issues at the beginning of the movie (see 'CUTS' section below). Some of the scenes are in Italian only with no English subtitles and Italian subtitles are forced when playing English audio. It has also the best set of extra features, none of which is English friendly.
- R2 Germany has both Italian and English audio, although the latter has an issue at the beginning of the movie (see 'CUTS' section below). Some of the scenes are in Italian only with no English subtitles, only German ones. It has also significant extras, but is not Anamorphic.
- R0 Scandinavia has only an unaltered English audio track, with some of the scenes in Italian only and without any subtitles. It offers some extras.
- R0 UK has only an unaltered English audio track, with some of the scenes in Italian only and with optional English subtitles for these scenes. It has almost no extras.
No edition offering the Italian audio with English subtitles is known to exist.
General notes:
The following versions of the film are known:
- The original Italian cut. In this version, the first scene of the movie is the group sex scene, featuring Italian credits and with the main title theme music. This is followed by the art lecture scene (a lesson about the Perugino by the professor John Richardson).
- The English export cut. In this version, the first scene of the movie is the group sex scene, featuring English credits and with the main title theme music. This is followed by the conclusion of the lecture scene, since is was never dubbed into English.
- The US theatrical cut. In this version, some of the marshland murder was used as a teaser opening sequence scored with some very familiar seventies library music (guitar sting at the end), with the shortened credits appearing over this sequence. The group sex scene unfolded just after, without credits, and once again with different music. This was then followed by the professor dismissing class after the lecture. Some of the gore and brief dialogue was also edited later in the film.
Special thanks to rewind user ecc for providing this detailed information, as well as cut status information for the America, German and Italy editions.
This film is also known as:
- "Bodies Bear Traces Of Carnal Violence" -
