OVERALL: Draw
The US/Canada Arrow releases have 2K masters of the Hong Kong version and extended Japanese version with all the extras from the UK release plus an exclusive commentary track.
The Hong Kong release has the original Hong Kong version with 7.1 audio and exclusive interviews.
The German release has the extended Japanese version with 5.1 and original mono audio options and exclusive extras.
The Japanese release has the extended Japanese version with the original mono track and an exclusive commentary.
GENERAL NOTES:
According to director Sammo Hung, the fight sequences that appear as deleted scenes on some DVD releases were never actually part of the original Chinese release of the film. They were added into the Japanese release at the request of the co-producer/distributor Shochiku (who promoted the film as a “trademark action film from Jackie Chan”) as the Japanese market demanded more action. (Thanks to mentasm for this info).
