OVERALL: R1
Deluxe Edition, for the extras.
If you want the box set, choose "Santa's Magical Stories" for the additional short films. Do note, "The Complete Rankin/Bass Christmas Collection" includes a majority of the Rankin/Bass Christmas specials, but omits the extras.
Avoid all the pre-Warner releases (Laserlight, Brentwood, etc) which are now considered bootlegs due to the thought it was in the public domain. The special is still under copyright and the WB release is the only official version, straight from the 35mm source. -

- R1 America- Universal Pictures - No cuts.
- R1 Remastered Deluxe Edition America- Warner Home Video - No cuts.
