- R2 UK Deluxe Edition has two versions of the film (but note the Theatrical version is cropped), a 5.1 soundtrack on the Director’s Cut, and a great selection of extras
- R1 US Criterion has only the Director's cut, but many exclusive extras (including a paperback copy of the source novel).
Also note that:
- R0 Criterion edition is the only release that presents "The Director’s Cut" in 1.66:1.
- R2 France includes some unique extras, but the movie is only available in a box set.
