Though avoid the German, Italian, and Spanish single-disc releases which are missing the Extended version.
Only minor language differences between the releases.
Note the Blu-ray's extended (actually director's) cut restores the music in some of the extended scenes to the composer's original intended cues for the first time.
This film exists in two versions:
(1.) The director's cut which was the first version prepared by Spielberg. It tested badly so the studio insisted on it being cut down for release. However, it was shown on television and on home video formats (146 minutes).
(2.) Theatrical cut (119 minutes). -
