OVERALL: Draw
The US Olive Signature Edition, US Kino Lorber and the French releases have two versions of the movie and differing extras.
Note that the US releases include the 1948 Theatrical Version while the French release includes the 1948 Integral Version and most of the extras on the French release are not English-friendly.
Versions:
The following versions of the film are known to exist:
- The 1948 Theatrical Version, with the cast using Scottish accents (107 min)
- The 1948 Integral Version, which adds overture (8 min) and exit (4 min) music (119 min)
- The 1950 Re-release Version, which was shortened by the studio and redubbed under the supervision of associate producer Richard Wilson to reduce the Scottish accents. This version adds narration from Orson Welles at the opening and is missing some of the play's most famous lines (85 min) -

- Blu-ray A America- Kino Lorber - No cuts - includes both the 1948 Theatrical Version (119:15) and the 1950 Re-release Version (85:07).
