OVERALL: Draw
The R1 releases have an additional alternate ending ("Alternative Theatrical Ending") while the R2 and R4 Australia releases have an additional deleted scene ("Hospital Dream").
These differing features are actually different edits of the same scene. "Hospital Dream" is in an unfinished open-matte state, but contains additional footage that was removed during post-production to create the "Alternative Theatrical Ending," which is in color-corrected widescreen as it was shown as post-credits footage for some North American Theatrical screenings. Correspondingly, the R1 audio commentary on "Alternative Theatrical Ending" has been re-edited to remove references to footage removed from the "Hospital Dream" edit.
The R2 Limited Edition has an additional disc with some PR-extras for 28 Weeks Later.
AVOID the barebones R2 UK single disc and R4 Mexico.
The film was shot primarily in SD on Canon XL-1s at 25fps and transferred to film at 24fps for theatrical release. The final scene was shot on 35mm film.
