OVERALL: Draw
Between the U.S. disc for a 1080p transfer and its extras and the 1080i French disc solely for its exclusive extras.
Two versions have been released:
(1.) The director’s cut (107 minutes at 24fps).
(2.) The originally released MGM cut (91 minutes at 24fps). This was the version disowned by director Polanski.
There has been talk of a 148 minute edit, but if such a version ever existed it’s highly likely that it was a rough assembly edit or a workprint before being honed down to Polanski’s prefered version (or it is a typo for a reported timing of 1hr 48m).
There would appear to be a Spanish Blu-ray, but it’s not known if it’s legitimate and if it’s a BDr. -
CUTS:
- Blu-ray ALL America- Warner Home Video - No cuts - director’s cut (107:24)
- Blu-ray B France- Warner Home Video - No cuts - Director’s cut (103:02 - 25fps)
