OVERALL: Draw
Italian R2 is the best release, but only for Italians. The best release for English people is the US R0.
Please note that the German release from Astro has also suffered quite severe matting (the image has been matted from 1.85:1 to around 2:1) in order to obscure the burnt-in subtitles on some of the materials used for the release. (The release is a composite of materials taken from several different prints.)
GENERAL NOTES:
The film was shot with hardcore content, and the softer versions that have appeared in other territories were cut down locally rather than featuring alternate takes. -
CUTS:
- R0 America- Blue Underground - No cuts (100:09 NTSC) Totally uncut, with infamous "horse-scene", hard-core inserts, and faked snuff footage.
- R0 Germany- Astro - No cuts - a composite of multiple sources with some missing frames due to damage rather than censorship.
- R2 Integral Version Italy- Stormovie - No Cuts - Totally uncut, with infamous "horse-scene", hard-core inserts, and faked snuff footage.
- R2 Soft Version Italy- Stormovie - Yes, soft version (84:53 PAL)
