Notes:Initial pressings came with a card slipcase and 8-page liner notes booklet; subsequently dropped.
Packaging incorrectly lists the running time as 89 minutes.
The BBFC insisted on 0:14 of subsitutions in the "The American Nightmare" documentary during footage from "The Last House on the Left". Ironically this documentary was shown in early 2004 uncut on the BBC.
Also in "The Wes Craven Collection" box set with The Last House on the Left (single disc), Scream, The Hills Have Eyes (single disc), Mind Ripper and a 5th disc with documentaries: The Directors: The Films of Wes Craven and The American Nightmare. -

OVERALL: Draw
between the R2 UK and R1 releases - for the documentaries, and DTS sound. However, it's important to note that the R1 'The Directors' documentary is available separately and the R2 'The American Nightmare' documentary, although cut, is the better of the two.
The German release also has the "Wes Craven: The Directors" documentary but only a 2.0 audio track.
There are also vanilla releases available from Anchor Bay UK under there 'Horror Classics label which should be avoided. -
