GENERAL NOTES:
The film exists in two versions:
- the theatrical version (~85 minutes) with the abrupt escapist ending;
- an extended version (~87 minutes) with an alternate more downbeat ending before a subversive final shot. This version first turned up on CED in 1983 and VHS in 1984 (it may also have been the version that played on cable television).

The 1990 laserdisc and VHS editions featured the theatrical version while the 2002 DVD and the 2016 Blu-ray/DVD editions feature the theatrical version with the alternate ending as an extra.
