OVERALL: Draw
Between the US release from Kino and the German releases from Koch Media and Explosive Media.
The Kino release offers the international cut in English and the longer cut with subtitles. The German Explosive Media release offers a good range of contextual material, and both the English and Italian dubs. Unlike the Japanese release (which is also non-anamorphic) the Explosive Media disc offers English subtitles for portions of the film that were never dubbed into English. The R2 Eureka release and the German release from Koch Media also both contain the full-length version of the film, in Italian with optional English subtitles, with exclusive contextual material.
The French and Italian releases also have some exclusive extra features, but please note that neither disc is English-friendly.
The differences between the Italian and international cuts can be found HERE. -
CUTS:
-
R0 Spain- Divisa Home Video - No censor cuts, but it´s missing the following scenes:
- When Brad spots Joland Modio bathing in the river there should be a short sequence of him chasing her before he attacks her.
- A few shots of the Vigilantes finishing up the attack on the Bandit town before Beau arrives.
- Heavy cutting of the fleeing outlaws in the desert. You don't see the wagon breaking a wheel and the group splitting into two. And you don't see Linda Veras handing a child up to Brad to carry away on horseback, rather than go with him herself. A rather poignant moment, because she's saving the child, and as you do see, she ultimately pays for her selfless act with her life (100:00 PAL). - R1 America- Kino Lorber - No cuts - includes the Italian version (112:02 NTSC) and the Interational version (93:19 NTSC).
- R2 France- Seven 7 - No cuts (106:46 PAL).
- R2 Germany- Koch Media - No cuts (106:49 PAL).
- R2 Special Edition Germany- Explosive Media - No cuts (107:04 PAL)
- R2 Italy- CDE - No cuts (106:31 PAL).
- R2 Japan- Imagica - No cuts (107:03 PAL-to-NTSC)
- R2 United Kingdom- Eureka - No cuts (107:00 PAL)
