OVERALL: R2
The French edition is the winner, for the anamorphic transfer of the International Version, and the additional documentary (the 50 min “Epic Films”). The film (International version) and the extras are English-friendly, and French subtitles are removable. The Arabic version of the film is not English-friendly, but it does at least have optional French subtitles.
The possible drawback of the French edition, for English speakers, is that the English soundtrack for the International version is only DD2.0 stereo. If soundtracks are more important to you than picture, the R2 UK Anchor Bay edition offers English DD5.1 as well as DD2.0. However, it only has a non-anamorphic transfer. And you would also lose the 50 min “Epic Films” documentary. Its Arabic version of the film is anamorphic (like the French edition's), but it has no subtitles. -
