Includes a 24-page booklet and 5 postcards.
Reversible inlay with 2 poster artworks on each side.
Extras are in Italian except the trailers and where noted.
Note about faulty discs:
The original widescreen European cut Blu-ray disc had minor compression issues which look like slightly excessive DNR. Remastered replacements were issued and can be obtained by sending a photo of your receipt or screenshot of your order to zombi@kochmedia.com.
There are two different permutations of the corrected discs, with minor label typography and matrix number variations. Original discs have the serial numbers 1018830 (4-BD set) and 1017750 (UHD/5-BD set). Both corrected discs have the same number: 1018830. There are only two sure ways to discern the corrected discs. The easiest is if it has a copyright date of 2017, but the first corrected disc is dated 2016, like all the faulty ones.
The corrected discs have these matrix numbers around the data side's hub:
BVP 25052 1018830CD1R1/L0 01 A03 IFPZ 14
BVP 25053 1018830CD1R1/L1 01 A03 IFPZ 14
The faulty discs had these matrix numbers:
BVP 22485 1018830CD1R1/L0 01 010MM IFPZ 13
BVP 22486 1018830CD1R0/L1 01 A01 IFPZ14 -

4K restorations of every cut:
- the theatrical cut from the original 35mm camera negative;
- the Cannes cut from the original 35mm camera negative of the theatrical cut and the 35mm CRI of the extended version;
- the Argento version from a 4K scan of the original Italian interpositive supervised by Michele De Angelis.
*Mislabeled as the "original cut", this is actually the 1998 cut which trimmed material from the 1989 expanded video cut (it runs close to the length of the 1989 version because the deleted footage is included at the end in a supplementary section seemingly copied directly from the Synapse DVD).
DISC FOUR (special features) is region B locked.
Comes in a rigid box with lid, featuring the original iconic artwork, containing one 4-disc digi-pack and one 3-disc digi-pack, a 160-page hardback book featuring 17 new essays, an archive article and George A Romero interview, original marketing, artwork and merchandise images, and behind-the-scenes stills, and the "Dawn of the Dead: The Novelisation" book by George A Romero and Susanna Sparrow (with exclusive artwork). -

Notes:The theatrical cut and extended cut feature HDR10+ while the Argento cut features SDR.
4K restorations of every cut:
- the theatrical cut from the original 35mm camera negative;
- the Cannes cut from the original 35mm camera negative of the theatrical cut and the 35mm CRI of the extended version;
Packaged in a four-tray digipak with a rigid slipcase. -

- The Italian set has exclusive extras.
General notes:
The following versions of the movie are known, with the first three considered as "official":
(1.) The "director's cut" (139 mins), also known as the "extended version", "US version", "longer version" and "Cannes version". This version of the movie has some more humour in it, and is more horror-oriented. It has a different musical score to the other versions (less Goblin). This version was rushed into shape for a showing at Cannes in 1978, and is the first completed version of this film. This version never played officially in the theaters in the United States.
(2.) The "US theatrical version" (127 mins), is the version that Romero prefers the most (so this is the true "director's cut" of the film). This shorter version has tighter editing and pace, and some of the music by Goblin. This is the version that was released to theaters in 1979 in the United States.
(3.) The "European cut" (119 mins), also known as the "Dario Argento version" and the "Italian version". Editing of this version was supervised by producer Dario Argento. Argento cut out most of the humor, and made the film more action-oriented. This version has a musical score by Goblin. Even with the shorter running time, there are scenes that are not in either of the Romero versions, and Argento cut scenes entirely differently from Romero.
(4.) The so-called "complete cut"/"ultimate final cut" (156 mins) combining scenes from Romero's and Argento's cuts of the film. -
