- R2 UK Tartan boxset has three versions of the movie/soundtrack, including Dolby Digital 2.0 Dual Mono, Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 soundtracks, and a featurette.
- R0 US has only one version of the movie/soundtrack, with Dolby Digital 2.0 and 5.1, but it offers a documentary. Unfortunately, the transfer is non-progressive.
- R0 Scandinavia has also only one version of the movie/soundtrack, with Dolby Digital 5.1, but it has the same documentary than the one found on the US edition and is progressive. Unfortunately, it isn't English friendly.
- R2 UK BFI has a 5.1 and 2.0 soundtracks of the original 1926 score with additional bonus films.
- R0 Australian Bounty Films' release has an exclusive commentary and bonus films.
General notes:
*The movie was shot at 18fps, meaning that some pictures had to be duplicated to achieve a video transfer keeping the same pace than the original movie.
*The following movie/soundtrack versions are known:
- The 'Edmund Meisel music score' was commissioned by the German distributor when the film became a hit there and is considered as the original score.
- The 'Nikolai Kryukov music score' was released in 1956: it has a spoken introduction in Russian explaining the historical context of the events in the film.
- The 'Ed Hughes music score' is a new score commissioned for the R2 UK Tartan Video release and performed by The New Music Players. -
