OVERALL: Blu-ray ALL
Both have exclusive extras but only the Mondo Macabro edition is fully English-friendly.
GENERAL NOTES:
There are different edits of this film in existence. The film was a French-Italian-Spanish coproduction, and a number of different edits of the film seem to have been prepared for different markets:
(1.) The Italian version ANICA (the Italian Associazione Nazionale Industrie Cinematografiche Audiovisive e Multimediali) identifies the Italian cinema prints as being 2720m in length (circa 99 minutes NTSC = 95 minutes PAL). However, an Italian VHS release is in existence, which contains a version of the film (in Italian language) that runs for 109 minutes NTSC = 105 minutes PAL.
(2.) The French version: ANICA identifies the length of the French release prints as 95mins. However, a French SECAM cassette is in existence which contains an edit of the film that runs for 91 minutes NTSC = 87 minutes SECAM. This version of the film carries the title La Machination. Confusingly, the Centre national du cinéma et de l'image animée (CNC), which holds the data from the French cinema regulatory body Commission de controle des films cinematographiques (CCFC), lists the film's length as 3360m (122 minutes NTSC = 117 minutes PAL)
(3.) The German version: ANICA identifies the German release prints as running for 99 mins NTSC = 95 minutes PAL.
(4.) The English-language version: When the film was submitted to the BBFC in 1971, it had a runtime of 108 minutes NTSC = 104 minutes PAL. A 103 minute NTSC (=99 minute PAL) VHS version has also been in circulation, and the BFI lists the running time of the English version as 103 minutes (9270 feet).

A comparison between the French and English versions is availalble on DVD Times.
Not to be confused with the giallo Murder by Music (aka "I caldi amori di una minorenne" or "Las trompetas del apocalipsis") which was released in Italy as "Perversion Story". -
