OVERALL: R1
The R1 edition for the 1.66:1 OAR and additional extras. Do note that it is only available in a Blu-Ray / DVD combo pack.
Also note that the German release has a few exclusive features but it is 1.85:1 (the Koch Media Blu-ray is so).
Only one version of this film was ever released in the UK; the uncut theatrical release which runs 87 minutes uncut.
The original cut submitted to the BBFC ran 88:23 and was mot likely slightly edited to the fine cut which finally saw release. Consequently, the 87 minute version is the definitive, uncut version until someone unearth's the pre-release edition submitted to the BBFC.
When released in the USA cuts were made to all of the nudity and possibly to the gore. At the time of writing (July 2019) no release worldwide contains this version.
The Japanese got the full version but optically censored any pubic hair (according to Tim Lucas in the Synapse documentary).
GENERAL NOTES:
At roughly 29:50-30:00 on the MGM/ITV HD masters, the line "I don’t know how to thank you," spoken over the shot of the child is missing. You can the actresss' mouth moving at the extreme right of the screen as the camera tilts up. The line is present in earlier standard definition masters. -
