OVERALL: Draw
The French release has three versions of the film with some exclusive extras.
The UK and German releases have some differing extras, including one exclusive interview over the US/Canadian releases.
Do note that the U.S. version features mono audio for a Dolby Stereo film.
Versions:
Approximately 13 minutes were excised by the film's US distributors (Universal and EMI). The version released theatrically in various European countries is significantly longer, featuring a different opening sequence and apparently expanding all of the scenes featuring Terence Stamp's character. (This version was released at UK cinemas, with a running time of 115:47 - see the BBFC.) The video version that was released in most countries - from Cannon in the UK - reflected the length of the U.S. version. -
CUTS:
- Blu-ray A America- Kino Lorber - No cuts - shorter US version (103:39)
- Blu-ray A Canada- Kino Lorber - No cuts - shorter US version (103:39)
- Blu-ray B France- Le chat qui fume - No cuts - Includes the shorter US version (103:33), the composite extended version (125:16), and the French version (106:05).
- Blu-ray B Germany- Studio Canal - No cuts - shorter US version (103:33)
- Blu-ray B United Kingdom- Studio Canal - No cuts - shorter US version (103:33)
