OVERALL: Blu-ray ALL

Currently the only release we have specifications for and obviously the corrected version is preferable.

Note:
Initial pressings had a mastering fault whereby the film without the overture. However, it is accessible if you play on a PC with a BD drive.

It seems Disney ballsed up as there are two playlists on this disc; one with the overture and one without.

Obviously they planned to encode the menu to give you an either or choice to play film with or without the overture, but someone forgot to put the link in the menu to the overture version making it inaccessible on a standard BD player.

Here’s how to watch though if you have a PC setup.

[Editor’s Note: The Disney Movie Club has now produced a fixed version of The Black Hole on Blu-ray that begins with the film’s overture when you play the disc. There is no way to tell based on the packaging or disc labeling which is which, but the version now available from DMC is the fixed disc. If you purchased a copy of the old one, contact DMC customer service and they’ll send you the new one free of charge.
