OVERALL: R1

The R1 CE is the clear winner for both theatrical and TV cuts of the film and extras.

However, the R2 UK releases from Sanctuary / High Fliers / Scanbox and Scandinavian Scanbox feature a different 2004 commentary track and a fairly good DD5.1 track (2.0 stereo only in the case of the High Flier's / UK Scanbox version) BUT have very mediocre video quality.

Please note, when the Scream Factory CE was originally released, the audio for the theatrical version was in Mono. Shout! Factory made a replacement program for disc containing the film with its original Stereo soundtrack. If you happen to have the faulty disc, contact Shout! Factory customer service and ask for your replacement.

• R2 Hungary- Oliza - No cuts (92:13 PAL)
• R2 Portugal- Lusomundo - No cuts (88:24 PAL, without the Paramount opening and ending logo).
• R2 Scandinavia- Scanbox Entertainment - No cuts (88:45 PAL)
• R2 United Kingdom- Castle Home Video - Yes. Cut by 0:17 during the scene where Michael Myers dunks a topless nurse into a boiling Jacuzzi. The final two thrusts under the water have been removed along with a close up of her burnt face and then Michael throwing her naked body to the floor
• R2 United Kingdom- High Fliers Films PLC - No cuts (88:23 PAL)
• R2 United Kingdom- Sanctuary Digital Entertainment - No cuts (88:43 PAL).
• R2 United Kingdom- Scanbox Entertainment - No cuts (88:23 PAL).
• R4 Australia- Infogrames - No cuts.
